Church planting update

Mercy : Indonesia

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
Zechariah 4:10

It’s amazing to see how God can take something small and turn it into a ministry that touches countless lives.

We see this worked out constantly through ministries like Church Planters. We’ve even seen some of our own children and students become church planters.

Your partnership plays a key role in helping this ministry thrive and reach those who are hungry for the Gospel.

Church Planting - Ps. Herman Munthe’s Ministry

What started as a small prayer gathering in a few homes is now becoming a vibrant and growing ministry in Jimbaran, Bali, led faithfully by Rev. Herman Munthe!

This ministry began simply with house-to-house prayer gatherings involving just three families.

From this small start, God has been moving in powerful ways, bringing healing, restoring hearts, and welcoming people who once felt overlooked or rejected. As these testimonies spread, more young people began showing up, eager to know God and experience real change in their lives.

Week after week, lives have been transformed. To date, 18 new believers have been baptized as a public declaration of their commitment to follow Christ.

Today, the fellowship has grown to around 56 active members. About 70% are university students, joined by families working in the tourism industry and local online drivers who have also found community and spiritual growth here.

We continue to pray that God will use this ministry to reach even more people in Jimbaran and the surrounding areas. If you’d like to add specific prayer requests, ministry goals, or new developments, just let me know!

Progress Update: Building the New Dormitory at Mercy Sorong

We’re excited to share that Mercy Sorong has begun filling in the area behind the children’s home, the future site of a much-needed new dormitory.

The current rooms are small, damp, and often leak or flood during heavy rain, so building a new dorm has become an urgent need.

After completing the land fill process, the team moved on to laying the foundation, and they are now working on the foundation for the boys’ dorm rooms.

We humbly ask for your prayers, specifically that:

  • The weather remains clear, so construction can continue without delays.

  • The building process can be completed on time and with excellent results.

We are very grateful for the 100 million rupiah (~$6,000 usd) provided to begin this project.

In order to finish the project, we still need approximately 400 million rupiah (~$24,000 usd) to complete the entire construction.

Thank you for every prayer and every act of support. May the Lord bless and multiply every seed of kindness that has been sown.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

When you donate through Kinship United, every dollar funds the resources needed to support our orphanages, outreach, and projects that aim to bless locals (Church Makeover, Prison Ministry, Disciple Makers, Radio Ministry, and more).
